Staff have been working with students on learning experiences that provide opportunities for them to demonstrate understanding of numeracy concepts. Students in Grade 6/7 participated in a "Crusing Through Canada" activity where they had to plan a vacation. Students were given a budget to work with. Within the budget they collaborated  to calculate fuel economy and estimated gas costs based on price per a liter. They also had to plan meals, hotel and entertainment with taxes included. They communicated their findings to other classes by using graps, pie charts and algorithms.
