Students in Grade 2 used non-ctandard units to measure creatures that they were interested in. Some students measured Goliath Bird Eater Tarantula's, Dinosaur Claws, and Giant Walking Sticks. Students used multi-link cubes, rulers (cm) and tiles. Students found the activity engaging and one student even suggested measuring the length of his favourite dinosaur which the class did together outside.
