Professional Learning Day Scanning and Data Share

During the January 27th, Professional Learning Day, Thomas Kidd staff spent the morning looking through the responses from the student scanning questions. In grade groups staff used the following questions to guide their conversations.

What do you notice? What is surprising or unexpected?

What do you wonder?

What does the data tell us?

Staff were also interested in learning more about how our students were doing in the area of numeracy. Using a Padlet, staff shared student strengths and stretches in the area of numeracy. They also looked at the Grade 4 and Grade 7 numeracy (Foundation Skills Assessment) FSA results from the previous year as well as data from the term 1 Written Summaries of Learning. Staff worked in grade groups and used the questions above to guide their conversations.
